Ghost of Girlfriends Past

Ghost of Girlfriends Past is a romantic comedy film directed by Mark Waters. The plot of the film is based on Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol. A Christmas carol is a film that tells about the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge, a man who doesn't believe in Christmas, after the supernatural visitations of Jacob Marley and the three ghosts: The Ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Ghost of Girlfriends Past is a film starring Matthew McConaughey as Conner Mead and Jennifer Garner as Jenny Perotti.

Conner is a professional photographer who became a womanizing bachelor because of Wayne Mead, his uncle. Conner returns to his family estate for his brother's wedding, Paul to Sandra Volkom. There he sees Jenny, his chilhood sweetheart and former girlfriend, who serves as the wedding planner. Conner offends the guests for stating his rejection for love, romance, and marriage, trying to convince Paul not to pursue with the wedding. At night, Wayne visits Conner and tells him that he will be visited by three ghosts from which he will learn important things.

The first ghost to visit Conner was the ghost of girlfriends past, Allison, a high school friend. They went back through time and visited some scenes which focuses his relationship with Jenny who is his greatest childhood friend. By middle school, Conner's love for Jenny grew stronger but he had been hurt. Wayne told Conner that if he don't want to be hurt, he must never believe in love, romance, and the like. After sometime, Conner became a "bad boy"; he doesn't take girls seriously. Several years later, Conner fell in love with Jenny again. They had a relationship but because of the fear of getting hurt, he left her. From that time on his relationship with other girls became meaningless.

Conner wakes up thinking that everything was just a dream. In the house, he accidentally destroys the wedding cake, he tries to reconcile but they wont forgive him. Outside the house, the ghost of girlfriends present in the form of Melanie, his assistant, confronts him. He sees the guests making fun of him but his brother stands up for him and says that someday, he'll change. He also sees that Jenny is being confronted be Brad, making them closer to each other.

Going back to the house, he tries to fix the situation buy he only makes it worst. Paul told him to leave and on his way, he confronts the ghost of girlfriend future who takes him forward in time to see that Jenny is marrying Brad while Paul remains unwed. Also, he sees that Paul was his only mourner during his burial. Wayne appears and tells him the consequences of his ways and pushes him to his grave to be buried by his many girlfriends.

Conner wakes up and finds out that Sandra is leaving and the wedding was cancelled. He  hurriedly followed Sanda and asked for forgiveness. He said that if she realy loves his brother,  he will learn to forgive him. He shared the lessons he had learned from his own mistakes. Connor helps Jeny pull the wedding back together and reconciles with her afterward by
showing her the picture he still carries, and promises to be there when she wakes up.
